February Newsletter

23rd February 2018
It may have been a cold, gloomy start to the year but I've been enjoying working in my warm, cosy studio, editing and selecting images from my spring, summer and autumn shoots from last year. Its been a joy working on these warming images at this time of year.

When I'm not out with my camera, one of my biggest ongoing tasks is spending time selecting and editing images either for, licensing out with Getty Images, creating my own limited editions, new scarves, or images I want to keep in my library for future use. I will be adding some new, interesting, abstract limited editions to my website in due course and I have a new selection of images out for licence at Getty Images.

This 'Verbena bonairensis' image was taken at Elvaston Castle in August, it's one of my favourite images from last year and one which will definitely be made into a 100x70cm size limited edition print. Verbena bonairensis Print.

Handmade ONLINE
In November I had some wonderful news which I had to keep to myself until two weeks ago! I'm really pleased to announce that I have been accepted by Handmade In Britain, to show and sell my silk scarves in their new Handmade ONLINE shop which opens soon in April!

Handmade in Britain showcases and supports the very best of British designer-makers, so as you can imagine I was over the moon to be selected to be part of their prestigious community. I'm currently in the process of setting up my shop, more details will follow soon!

New For Spring!
Last spring, patience finally paid off and I got the image that had eluded me for three years! This magnificent Magnolia tree, above, is situated behind the Camellia House at Wollaton Park in Nottingham. I used to visit it every year, camera in hand, but each time I was unlucky and the frost had bitten and browned the leaves the previous night. Last year I was determined and went every day for a week, just waiting for the buds to burst open, the right lighting conditions and praying there wouldn't be a frost! Then one sunny April morning, everything came together and finally... SUCCESS!

I took hundreds of images, got covered in pollen! But when I saw this on screen it had all been worthwhile and I knew it would make a beautiful scarf. And here it is, the new Magnolia Scarf and just in time for mothers day! Magnolia Silk Scarf

It's been lovely sharing my latest news, please keep in touch either by email or on social media and I look forward to speaking to you soon.
